Award-winning journalist, Michael Moss, has a new book called Salt, Sugar, Fat: How the Food Giants Hooked Us. It is a compelling read. A recent review in the blog, GMO Awareness says it all.

Another excellent, local, group to get involved with is Brattleboro’s Post Oil Solutions, a small community group dedicated to building sustainable communities.
Also, the Healthy Communities Coalition of Windham County recently testified (February 20th) to the House Committee on Health Care as to why an excise tax on sugar is good public policy. Member, and Meeting Waters YMCA director, Steve Fortier, had this to say:
“There is no question that consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages is directly related to obesity, mortality.”
